Gautam is a marketing services professional who has worked across India, China and South East Asia. He is a Physics graduate from Delhi University, MBA from NMIMS Mumbai and an Exec MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
Gautam grew up in a small town in Jharkhand called Gomia and studied at Pitts Modern School. He was lucky to have access to a good school in such a remote area. He has seen first-hand the difference that a good education can make in somebody's life.
The idea of starting Awsar came to him at IIM Ahmedabad while doing a course called " Bridging the Divide" under Prof Anil Gupta. The course encourages students to try and come up with practical solutions to address a major issue facing India. It was here with two other classmates that the thought of starting an online platform to connect deserving students with potential donors first came about.
Umesh is an IT services professional & a business manager who has worked across Asia-Pacific and North America. He is a Mining Engineering graduate from Indian School of Mines Dhanbad, MBA from IMT Ghaziabad and PGPX from IIM Ahmedabad. He is currently based in Bangalore where he heads the Digital Transformation Services for an Indian multinational. Umesh also keenly associates himself with Sainik School Rewa where he spent 7 years of his childhood in a boarding school with military-like discipline and rigour.
Umesh grew up in a village on the outskirts of a small town called Rewa in the State of Madhya Pradesh. Like many other villages of those days and even today, education was always a struggle. With majority of population on the verge of poverty line, education was always an optional expenditure. Had it not been for Sainik School which was funded by the Government to provide free quality education, Umesh might be one of the many farmers in the village, trying to make do with small piece of land that would have come to his share. Primary reason why Umesh attaches so much importance to education and the need to provide financial assistance to those who can’t afford quality education.
Ramya is an IT Services Professional who has worked across India, UK and Middle East and is currently based in Singapore. She is an Engineering graduate from MIT Manipal and an Exec MBA (PGPX) from IIM-Ahmedabad

She has been actively involved in supporting children and educational causes right from a young age. She was one of the founding members of WeKare, CSR initiative of CapGemini India. It was at IIM-Ahmedabad that batch mates Gautam, Umesh and Ramya came together to conceptualize and begin work for Awsar.
